ADMISSION NOTICE: ADMISSION OPEN FOR CLASSES NURSERY TO IX AND XI (ARTS, SCIENCE & COMMERCE)

SCHOOL REGULATION
1. Students are answerable to the school authorities for their conduct in and outside the school.
2. Irregular attendance, habitual idleness. objectionable behaviour. continuous failure to make satisfactory progress
in studies and above all disobedience anddisrespect to the members of the staff are sufficient reasons for dismissal.
3. Students who have been absent from class must have the reasons for their absence briefly noted in their regularity record.
To be admitted to the classroom those who have been absent must show their class teacher the reason for their absence
entered in their Regularity Records, duly countersigned by the Principal/Vice-Principal.
4. Students generally will not be allowed to leave the school till the end of class for the day. Students once in school can leave only if taken away by parents in person or any other person with written permission from the parents. to the satisfaction of the school authorities for genuine and serious reasons.
Students Identity Card must be shown along with the written permission.
5. No electronic gadgets, audio and video devices, mass storage devices, mobile phones, books, periodicals or newspapers
of an objectionable nature shall be brought into school. Confiscated articles may not be returned.
6. Students are not encouraged to bring two wheelers to school or drive a four wheeler to school.
7. Any damage done to the school property should be made good by the pupil concerned.
8. Money should not be Lent or borrowed or articles exchanged.
9. The school is not responsible for goods or money Lost. It is not advisable to bring valuables (Like expensive watches,
pens or gold or otherprecious ornaments) to school.
10. Parents are not allowed to enter the class rooms either to see children or to seek interviews with the teachers during class
hours. Interviews should bearranged through the Principal/Vice-Principal only.
11. Every child attending school is obliged to take part in all school activities.
12. Pupils must come neatly and properly dressed in uniform to school. failing which they may be barred from attending class.
Hair colouring,using nail polish or other make up are not allowed in school.
13. Children when sick should not be sent to school. A pupil who has been suffering from or has been in contact with any
infectious disease must produce a certificate from a competent authority that he/she can attend school without risk
of conveying infections.
14. In case a child falls sick/meets with an accident in theschool premises he/ she can be helped with immediate first aid.
The parents will be informed andare expected to come and attend immediately. It is important to give the correct
contact numbers in the diary and update it whenever there is a change.
15. Though the school takes care of children while in school. the school cannot be held responsible for any self inflicted
or accidental mishap/ injury that may happen in school.
16. Admittance into the school premises is at the discretion of the school authorities.
The school authorities therefore reserve to themselves theright to refuse admission to any one without assigning any
reason whatsoever.
17. Presents to members of the staff or other demonstrations in their honour require Principal's sanction.
18. 75% attendance is compulsory for students to sit for the final term examination.
19. It is the responsibility of Parents/Guardians to be in time to pick up their children from the school or from the bus stop.
After school, students of Class VI and upwards, who are not using the school bus, are allowed to leave on their own.
For the school to make any other arrangement, written information must be given in advance.
20. Enrolment in the school implies on the part of the students and parents, willingness to comply with the requirements
and regulations of the school in force and as may be changed from time to time.
21. ALL office work will be done on school working days only.
22. ALL communication to the school must be addressed to the Principal.
23. Parents I Guardians are expected to personally arrange the transport of their wards to and from the examination centres
for ICSE and ISC examinations.

ABSENCE AND WITHDRAWAL
-
An absence due to illness for two or more days, besides being entered in the Regularity Record must be accompanied doctor's prescription and by a a fitness certificate.

Long leave of absence may be granted on a previously written application from parents/guardians.
3. A pupilabsent for fifteen calendar d¥ without notification by letter to the
school authorities will be deemed withdrawn and his/hername will be struck
off the rolls and re-admission may be made at the discretion of the school
authorities on payment ofRs.1000/- subject to availability of seats,
4. ALL dues must be cleared and Library books returned before applying for
T.C.
5. One month's notice or a month's fee in lieu of notice must be paid up
for withdrawal of a child from the school. However, after the month of July,
T. C. will be issued on payment of fees up-to March.
6. For obtaining T.C. parents will have to submit in writing an application
along with Rs. 200/-
7. T. C. will be issued on a working day only.
8. T. C. will be issued not before 2 days from the day of application if all
other obligations are met.
9. Any T. C. that goes out of the state of West Bengal has to be
countersigned by the CISCE Office and a fee of Rs. 200 will be charged,
for the extra expenses for this service. It takes around 30 days to receive
the countersigned T.C.
10. Any student failing two years in succession in the same class or failing
twice in three consecutive years, will have his name struck offthe rolls and
a Transfer Certificate will be granted.
11. Not-withstanding anything in the prospectus the Principal may at his
absolute discretion require any parent at any time to take his ward out of the
school.
12. Students whose attendance is irregular. who do not pay their fees, who
are habitually Late or absent. Lazy or disobedient. whoseconduct is injurious
to the moral tone of the school or incompatible with strict discipline may be
dismissed.
13. Once T.C. is issued readmission will be made on payment of all fee required
of a new applicant. if seats are available.

FEES
-
The school fees cover twelve calender months and may be paid in monthly instalments or in advance. No reduction is made forholidays or broken periods.

Students who have not paid bus fee for two months will be barred from using the bus till fees are cleared.

Fees are to be paid in advance before the 20th of each month failing which a Late fee of Rs. 30/-will be Levied for each month. In anycase fees are to be paid before each of the Terminal Examination (including the fees for the month in which the Examination is scheduled.)

If 20th is a holiday the payment must made on the Last working day before the commencement of the holiday/holidays.

Pupils whose fees are Long overdue may be barred from sitting for their Examination and are liable to have their name struck off the rolls.

Pupils who fail to pay school fees for three months will have their names struck off the roll. Re- admission may be made on payment of defaulted months with Late fee and an additional fine of Rs 300/-

The School reserves the right to increase the fees at any time of the school year. An increase every year is normal.

Maintenance and development fees will be taken at the beginning of the scholastic year as yearly session fees.

Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances It is also not adjustable or transferable.
10. Search fee - A fee of Rs. 100/- would be charged for documentation and certificates
out of the ordinary.

ASSESSMENT AND CRITERIA FOR PROMOTION

The entire academic year is divided into three terms with an examination for each term. Pupils will be examined in all the subjects.Besides these terminal examinations, performance of the pupils will be assessed through weekly tests and assignments. Failure toappear at any test or failure to submit any assignment can seriously affect a student's promotion.

The result given in the progress report are final and will not be changed.

Duplicate Report Card will be made on payment of Rs. 200/-

For all classes 40% marks must be scored in every subject for a pass. Where grading is used at Least 'D' must be scored, 'E' meansfailed.

A student who is caught using unfair means during the examination willbe given zero for that examination and willnot be al owed to write anyother examination on that day. Repeated transgression during the examination will result in the cancellation of the entire terminal examination.

There is no provision for reassessment. Examinations I Tests willnot be postponed I anticipated for individuals.

The School does not undertake to retain answer scripts of candidates Later than 15 days after the date on which the results are declared.

Progress Report will not be issued if fees are in arrears.

Students whose attendance is below 75% of the working days are not eligible to sit for the final examination unless absence was due to serious reasons like hospitalization or illness requiring long treatment.

VACATIONS
There are three vacations during the year-the summer vacation in May. autumnal vacation in October and winter vacation in December.Parents are requested to make use of these vacations to attend all social obligation of their wards and avoid being absent during class days.

TRANSPORTATION
-
The school does not arrange any transport by cycle rickshaws or vans and discourages Parents from hiring small vehicles to transporttheir children to school.

The school arranges for transport by bus with private contractors apart from plying its own buses wherever feasible.

School Bus facilities will be available only to limited number of students in each route according to the capacity of the bus. Bus passes will be issued to those using the bus.

Bus fee is to be paid with the tuition fee for all twelve months of the year.
-
One month's notice in lieu of one month's fee is to be paid before withdrawing a child from the bus. However, after the month of July busfee is to be paid till the the month of March.

The bus will stop at fixed stops only. In case the student misses the bus he/ she is expected to reach the school by other means.

Parents/ Guardians and students are expected to pay due respect to the driver and helper of the bus.

Students are expected to obey the bus monitors and be well behaved in the bus as well as at the bus stands.

Those not in school uniform may be barred from boarding the bus.
-
Parents/Guardians are not allowed to enter or travel by the school bus.
-
Students must bring their bus passes daily failing which they may be barred from boarding the bus.

The school cannot be held responsible for any untoward accident that may occur on the road.

School bus service will not be provided for students writing Board Examinations(ICSE & ISC examinations) Parents & Guardians are expected to personally arrange the transport of their wards to and from the examination centres for ICSE and ISC examinations.

Students should not be taken out of the bus by anyone except at the specified bus stops. Parents/Guardians who want their wardnot to return by bus, must inform the receptionist well in advance before the student boards the bus.

Parents must enquire with the school for availability of seats before changing their bus mid session. Seats are not guaranteed.

Parents are requested not to call drivers on their mobile phone while they are transporting children. All the buses have GPS devices to track its whereabout.

ADMISSION
-
Admissions are generally taken in Nursery. For Nursery, the candidate must be 3 years old in April of the year admission is sought. Birth Certificate is to be produced. Admissions to other classes till Class IX is on availability of vacancies.

The ISC is a separate course. Admission to the Plus Two level is normally reserved for students who have passed ICSE through thisschool. Admission to it is entirely at the discretion of the School Authorities even for the students who have completed the ICSE at St. Xavier's School, Siliguri. The school reserves the right to refuse admission forms to Class XI. Admission to it is based onacademic and non-academic performances, which include conduct and overall behaviour. A new application is required foradmission to this course. Conduct Record of a student has a major role to play in his/ her admission to ISC.

ISC students must follow exactly the same pattern of discipline as the students of the rest of the school. Failure to maintain that toneof conduct and discipline expected of senior students according to the traditional norms of the school will be sufficient for dismissalat any time.

Criteria for admission to ISC {for students who have passed ICSE or its equivalent from other schools}:
Admission is solely at the discretion of school authorities. Progress Report Card and
Character Certificate of the previous school must be produced to receive the Admission Form.
Provisional Admission to Class XI is granted on clearing the admission test and interview.
After the ICSE results are published, the minimum marks to apply for the Admission form
is as follows :
Arts & Commerce : A student must secure a minimum aggregate of 60%.
Science : A student must secure 75% in Mathematics and Science each.
Parents/Guardians are asked to fill in the admission forms with the utmost accuracy.
No subsequent changes will be permitted.
5. Fee paid to the school is non - refundable under any circumstances.
If in case there is less than 15 students who opt for a particular stream in Class XI,
the stream may be discontinued.
N.B. -

Parents are requested to inform the Principal in writing if their child has any health problem, so that direct help can be given in case of an emergency.
